Before you consider Face Lift
Surgery, you might want to try facial exercises that can help restore a little of the lost tautness. I can give you some exercises
that have worked for me.
a) Drop your head back so you feel the
skin on your throat tighten. Then, pretend you're a wolf who is
baying at the moon and make a gentle "O" with your mouth. You'll feel your
throat muscles and the muscles under your chin tighten. Slowly
count to 3, relax, and repeat. Do this 10 times at least once a
day. I do this exercise in the shower.
b) Keep you forehead
line-free by working your forehead muscle (called the frontalis muscle) in all directions. First, gently frown, then move your
eyebrows up and count to three. Relax, and repeat this 10
times.
c) To reduce those faint horizontal lip lines you see on
many older women, and to reduce the smile lines around your
mouth, keep the orbicularis oris taut with this exercise: curl your lips into your mouth and bite down with your teeth to make sure your
lips stay together, then blow through your mouth. Since your
mouth is closed, the forced air stretches the muscles around your
mouth like a balloon. Slowly count to 5, relax, and repeat 10
times.
