Depilatories and Vaniqa for Facial Hair
Depilatories

Depilatories are applied directly on the hair in the form of a gel, foam, lotion, or cream.
They have a high amount of alkaline that dissolves the hair so that you can wipe it off. To
get the best results, use a nubby cloth to wipe off the depilatory and use short strokes
with a little pressure.

The hair will grow back in a few days, so this is not a permanent solution.
Depilatories
should never be used for eyebrows or around the eyes, or on inflamed and broken
skin.

The alkaline can be caustic and can irritate your skin, so always do a patch test to
determine if you have any allergy or if your skin is too sensitive for a depilatory. It’s best
to do the test in an area that is not obvious in case you have a bad reaction. Depilatories
also tend to have a sharp odor.

Vaniqa for Facial Hair

Vaniqa is a prescription-only topical cream for reducing and inhibiting the growth of
unwanted facial hair. It takes at least 4 weeks to see any results. The most frequent side
effects are adverse skin reactions..
