Answer:
Congratulations on
your marriage. I'm sure you're very busy adjusting to your new life and
new role as "wife", and this can be a very stressful as well as being
very exciting.
This is what I tell every newlywed: Be sure to take
care of yourself. It's easy to be overwhelmed with the newness of
marriage and you want to please your husband by being the perfect wife,
but you must not forget that your needs are important, too. Do one
thing everyday that makes you happy or makes you laugh. It can be a small
thing like watching a beautiful sunset, or smelling a fragrant flower,
or listening to a favorite piece of music, or dancing to a romantic song.
The important thing is to treat yourself well by doing something
for YOU.
The best tips I have for keeping your skin looking
bright and young are:
1. Be sure to get enough sleep. Being
tired will make you look older. You need at least 7 hours of sleep a
night.
2. Drink plenty of water. Being dehydrated will make
your skin look parched.
3. Smile. When you use the face muscles
to smile, you release natural endorphins in your brain that act almost
like an opiate and you'll start to feel good. When you feel
good, you look good.
4. Don't go to sleep with make up on. It
will dry out your skin and make it prone to blemishes. I use baby oil
to remove makeup which I pour right onto my hands. I apply the oil
in a circular motion starting at my jawline and moving up to my
forehead and out to my ears, and I use the same motion over my eyes: I
start at my nose and move out to the end of my eyebrow and under my
eye. Put very little pressure behind this motion because you don't need
to rub the skin hard to loosen the makeup.
5. Use a mild soap
and wash with warm water in the morning and again in the evening before
you go to bed.
6. Use a light moisturizer at night. You shouldn't
need one during the day at your age unless you are living in a
dry environment. Pat your face dry with a cotton towel
after washing. While there is still a thin layer of water on
your face, apply a moisturizer in the same circular, upward motion
that I described above.
I hope I've helped. Audrey
